About Ed Snyder

Built For The
Tough Conversations.

Ed Snyder is a pastor, author, speaker, and certified law enforcement chaplain who has spent over three decades working where life gets raw—with first responders, leaders, congregations, and everyday people who are tired of being controlled by their emotions.

As founder of Solid Rock Church in Irving, TX and co-author of Control The Beast with his wife Gayle, Ed's message is simple but convicting: lasting change begins from the inside out. You can't lead others if you can't lead yourself.

He blends biblical truth with emotional intelligence, hard-won experience with practical tools—and he delivers it in a way that sticks.

My Story

Called To More

At thirteen years old, I felt the call of God upon my life. I did not fully understand where that calling would lead, but I knew my life would be dedicated to helping people.

Over the years that calling has taken me into churches, businesses, leadership teams, boardrooms, community organizations, hospitals, police departments, crisis scenes, and countless conversations with people searching for answers.

The greatest battles people fight are often not around them. The greatest battles are within them. That realization eventually became the foundation for my book Control The Beast—a practical guide to helping people develop emotional intelligence, strengthen relationships, improve communication, and lead themselves more effectively.

Today my mission remains simple: Help people become stronger on the inside so they can become more effective on the outside.

Why I Wrote Control The Beast

The Problem I Kept Seeing

People were intelligent, talented, capable, and hardworking, but many were being held back by unmanaged emotions. I watched relationships fail. Leaders lose influence. Teams experience unnecessary conflict. Families suffer. Opportunities disappear.

Not because of a lack of ability, but because emotions were controlling decisions.

The goal isn't to eliminate emotions. The goal is to lead them.

Emotions Are Indicators, Not Dictators.

What I Believe

Personal Responsibility

You may not control what happens to you, but you can learn to control how you respond.

Faith Matters

God's principles provide a foundation for healthy leadership and lasting transformation.

Growth Is Possible

Nobody is stuck. With the right tools, mindset, and commitment, people can change.

People Matter

Every person has value, purpose, and potential.
